You may recognise Ugne as a contestent from Great British Bake Off where she became renowned for her experimental and innovative creations and focus on free-from and healthy baking. Ugne is also a fitness enthusiast, author and business woman.
Ugne is from rural Eastern Europe where she was brought up baking with fantastic locally sourced, organic ingredients such as flour ground at the small mill on a local farm, cakes from fruits, nuts and wild berries from her family’s grounds and raw honey from their own bee hives.
These early influences combined with those from the top French, British and North American Bakers of our time inspired her and made her the leading chef she is today.
Ugne is also a body builder and self-confessed fitness enthusiast so takes eating healthily very seriously. One of her objectives is to show how baking, to a certain degree, can be much healthier with a little ‘know how’ and care when choosing ingredients. Her aim is to introduce healthier versions of bakes.
