We think that this is the perfect way to put a slow cooker to good use!

(If you've not got one don't worry! The same decadent hot chocolates can be made by heating the ingredients in a big pot on the stove for 10-15 minutes, whisking regularly to avoid lumps and to stop the chocolate from burning.)

The secret to making the ultimate indulgent hot chocolate is to use real chocolate in addition to cocoa powder. The result is a rich and creamy melted chocolate treat!

To make your own (this recipe makes 5), you'll need:
500ml of milk - we've used whole milk for extra creaminess
150ml double cream
150g Food Thoughts Dark 70% Cacao Discs
20g Food Thoughts Cocoa Powder
Your choice of toppings - marshmallows, grated chocolate, whipped cream... And a splash of Baileys or your preferred liquor if you'd like...

- Combine all ingredients (except the toppings and liquor if using) in a slow cooker and stir well until everything has combined.

- Pop the lid on and cook on low until everything has melted together. This can take up to an hour. While it's cooking make sure you stir occasionally to prevent a skin forming on the top.

 - Once it's ready, take off the lid, turn off the heat and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.

- Then ladle into mugs and add your choice of toppings and a dash of liquor if using!

Are you feeling festive yet? It seems like everyone has decorated already!
